  This is the only budget accom in Cairns we ever stay at, she hits a sweet spot between price, location, atmosphere and facilities. The staff are always ready to help however possible, theres plenty of parking and everything in cairns is still only a 5min walk away. Not to mention that Rainbow Resort charm ;) and when the pool side bar is open it can be a blast as well.

  Booked 2 nights, I’ve booked to stay elsewhere tomorrow and will put up with it for tonight as it is too late. This place is THE worst accommodation I have ever stayed. Everything is so run down, either broken or worn out. Room hadn’t been properly cleaned since the last people with dirty blanket and stickers from shopping on the window. Room isn’t secure with broken latches to both bathroom window and sliding door. Toilet constantly makes strange noises. The main light in the room won’t turn on and to top it off I went to get into bed and a huge cockroach crawled out from under the sheets. I know the price is cheap but Id expect a little more!! So disappointed..

  Not even worth the one star I have to give it. Got an apartment as there was meant to be 4 of us. Only air conditioning was in the bedrooms therefore the loungeroom and kitchen were hot. There was hair left in the bathroom and mould growing in all the corners of the bathroom. No plug to use the bath. Microwave had been left dirty. The bed was from the 70's and was the most uncomfortable bed to stay in. Went and brought our own cleaning products to be able to stay the night. Restaurant and bar were both closed. Had paid for 2 nights but left after 1. Would never recommend this place for anyone.

  I will stay anywhere else in Cairns but never again at Rainbow Resort. It's not so much the stained sheets or the peeling paint and crunchy matress but both times I have stayed here the young tourists have after party from 10pm to 3am with no sign of stopping, very loud, no sleep. I'm off to try and sleep in the car. It's not cheap if it's not right!

  This hotel advertised on a popular booking site that the room for $67 was previously $400. I thought that’s a great deal. When you get there it is a budget room. When asked to explain they didn’t know. Couldn’t reverse the deal. Had to stay. Dodgy as.....
